Donda West's doctor takes on the role of victim
TMZ.com has an exclusive interview with the doctor who performed Donda West's cosmetic procedures before she died over the weekend.
In the interview, Dr. Jan Adams ironically takes on the role of the victim. The plastic surgeon accuses another doctor of suggesting that he was unethical or "sleazy" for not refusing to perform the surgery on Dr. West who had a pre-existing medical condition that would have made surgery very risky for her.
Dr. Adams told TMZ her death, which followed a tummy tuck and breast reduction, was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting.
Dr. Adams tells TMZ West consulted with him over a period of four months. He says she changed her mind numerous times, sometimes greenlighting the surgery and sometimes halting it.
As for the TMZ report that Beverly Hills doc Dr. Andre Aboolian refused to conduct the surgery because of a medical condition that West had, Dr. Adams said of Dr. Aboolian, "he is sleazy and manipulating the truth to elevate his own importance."
Dr. Adams says he did nothing wrong.

I feel Kanye's pain. He's so blessed to have had such a wonderful mother. He's also doubly blessed to have expressed, publicly and privately, how much he treasures her. My Mom is overseas right now. I can't wait for her to come home to treat her how Kanye treated his Mom. My condolences to Kanye. I truly admired his Mom.
BTW, that same doctor is on TLC or one of those channels. He actually does a show on plastic surgery. I think it's called Plastic Surgery: Before and After. He seemed like a thorough guy. So sad!
This is so sad. I prayed for Kanye last night. I wish she wouldn't have had this procedure. For someone being almost 60, she looked fabulous, I didn't even know she was that old. I'm glad she got to witness Kanye's success while she was alive. May she rest in peace.
I think that Doc's career is over, he's going to lose alot of money because people would be afraid of him.
a lot of controversy with this procedure..I don't know why both doctors feel they need to release statements..that alone is suspect
Hey I remember seeing this guy a few years back on Oprah... something didn't seem right about him then... He is a real smooth talker, that can sale water to a whale... Copy and Paste this link http://www.oprah.com/tows/after/200311/tows_after_20031113.jhtml

SR...typo on your post...Dr Jan last name is Adams not WEST.
This dude is just trying to save his own butt. It's sad they can at least let the family mourn before getting into all this mess.
I feel bad for Kanye too, I lost my dad earlier this year and it is very, very painful.
Is there no such thing as patient privacy in California? Why are these two doctors speaking with the media about Ms. West? I remember after Nicole Brown Simpson died her therapist was on CNN, the medical board reprimanded her for violating Nicole rights, claiming that patient privacy extended beyond death. Did the rules change since then?
That's that famous doctor that is on all those makeover shows. His career is over. Even if he didn't do anything wrong, his career is over. Noone's going to want to be associated with him.
Dr. Jan Adams, I see him on TLC and the Discovery Channel on the Plastic Surgery show. This whole situation is so sad.
FYI- Sandra you put Dr. Jan West...
I don't think placing blame is going to bring Ms. West back. I saw Dr. Aboolian on Good Morning America this morning and he didn't say there was a pre-existing condition. What he said was he told Ms. West that she needed medical clearance which he requires of all patients over 40. Ms. West did not provide the clearance and never returned.
Contrary to popular belief, cosmetic surgery is not risk-free and Ms. West is certainly not the first person to die from it. It happens sometime and no one is to blame.
Thanks to everyone who pointed out the error with his name :)
This shakes me to the core. It's scary azz hell. I will be having Gastric Bypass surgery in a couple of months and am scared to death. I may have to rethink my decision to have it done. Dr. Adams is a highly respected surgeon. Just serves to remind us all that there is the risk of death with ANY surgery.

I find this the most interesting.
Confusion comes of the devil, because there is no truth in him. He is a liar and a thief, and Lucifer will always try and confuse, confound, and mislead us. We can overcome confusion through the Word, and through the Blood of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
wow crys, that's really deep...
Intersting about patients over a certain age requiring medical clearance. I had an acquaintence of mine, an older woman, who died from a breast reduction. She too was at home. I honestly though all of that was taken care of through the surgeon. I know if I was the DR, I'd take all precautions to cover my ass on all aspects.
Ok ... if she changed her mind that much, shouldn't that have been his sign to NOT agree to the surgery???
This dude has been on TV numerous times touting the "benefits" of plastic surgery ... even promoting himself as an "eligible bacehlor." He wanted attention, and now he's got it.
