T.I.'s lawyers blame bloggers for jeopardizing their case?
Last Friday, I received a call from an Atlantic records exec who informed me that T.I.'s lawyers were discussing amongst themselves the fact that the judge read my blog and was "very angry" by what he read. The exec indicated that the judge may have been angry enough to alter his decision to release T.I. on house arrest last Friday. The exec asked me to "be more sensitive" about what I wrote regarding T.I.
I agreed to comply with the record exec's request but later that same night I heard from two others in T.I.'s camp who said T.I.'s lawyers informed them that if T.I. isn't released this coming Friday it will be my fault. As ridiculous as that may sound, I'm taking this reckless innuendo seriously. I decided to post this for two reasons a) because I want this on record just in case, and b) because some people have a hard time accepting the fact that T.I. - not bloggers or the media - is responsible for his current situation.
I don't believe for one minute that the judge reads Sandrarose.com. If I was T.I. I would be concerned about paying all that money to lawyers who would resort to these types of intimidation tactics. The attorneys need to be worried about their case and not about what some random blogger writes.

oh hell no! are you serious? you have freedom of speech and i don't recall you saying anything bad..in actuality it was us who had things to say about him so where are they coming from..that's b.s and if the judge did supposedly read that it has no bearing on his decision..that doesn't make sense..for one you are not a part of the judicial system so whatever you wrote could only be listed as hearsay..if anyone would use it against T.I it would be the defense NOT the judge
Sandra this is not your fault nor is your blog to blame for the judge decision about T.I. getting released.
T.I. is a convicted felon for one. Two, he was caught in the act of purchasing guns. Three, the judge did not put a stipulation about Sandrarose.com need to be gagged.
This is all nonsense, especially since you have been non-judgemental about this cat since day 1.
I hope that they get their defense together and stop worrying about what the public is thinking...oh that's right...the public buys his music and make everyone on his label money (well the public spoke and will continue to speak)!!!

I'm really curious what could have been posted here that the judge presiding over the case didn't already know? If the judge needs to get his facts or form an opionion based on an online blog then that is at the very least scary to me.

Now Sandra I normally enjoy disagreeing with you but on this one which is surprising to me I agree totally with you. That is ludicrous that the attorneys or anyone else would say such a thing that your blog and many others would deter the judge from releasing T.I., now don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t doubt it that the judge or maybe his relatives do read these blogs because he probably wants to know what the world is saying about this “high profile case” but for him to go on this alone. But as I stated before T.I. attorneys would not have been one of my choices so I guess that now they are trying to find some type of cover up for the reason he is not release if he isn’t set free on Friday besides their lack of great defense!

I couldn't have said it more better. They need to consider that T.I. was a felon prior to this latest case. Federal law does say that felons aren't suppose to in around let alone have a fire arms. It's apparent that he's associates himself with known drug dealers. Yet and still they're having him plea NOT GUILTY. Oh man, these better be one hell of some lawyers. Not only that, the DA has a witness and supposedly wire taps and video footage. Sounds pretty open and shut to me. He'd been better off taking a plea.
Either way, I look at what you were doing as a favor on your part to them, because you didn't paint a bad picture and you're NOT the only blogger that ran the story.

Sandra,I don't know about jeopardizing the case. However,I did question some of the particulars you posted concerning your relationship with TIP and family. I can also see how the attorney would not like seeing in print that TIP likes collecting guns because it's a guilty pleasure. The judge probably was made aware by ATF and or by the prosecution. They surf the net for info on cases just like common folk. Many folk know about your relationships with some celebrities and your inside scoop.
Thank you for your informative post. I asked you in my comments that very thing, when I read the initial post. You listed the Body Guards name. That was definetly inside info. Also,he is pleading innocent and you stated and gave reasons for his possession of weapons and how things occured. Thank you for being sensitive to the case. I hope you don't get called as a witness for the prosecution.
How perfectly asinine of these people to even insinuate that your blog would be the reason T.I. is kept in jail! While reading your blog on the 15th, I felt that you were very lenient toward his situation almost to the point where I thought you were a personal friend! I am sure the newspapers and other media outlets were not as understanding of T.I.’s little gun collection as you seemed to be. If I was the judge reading your blog…I would have walked away saying “Boys love guns…” and he’s just a collector! True enough, boys love guns and cars – I know plenty that collect them like toys. Most of them just like to shine them up and show them off… Show me the ammunition…in my opinion this might prove some sort of intent. An empty gun might as well be a hammer, because the only thing you can do with it is hit someone in the head with it. However, I do think T.I. should have used better judgment in deciding to purchase the guns and who the hell he lets in his camp. By now, he probably thinks he should have done some things differently too. As far as T.I. being a threat to the general public, get real, the only thing that man wants the general public to do is buy his damn album…so he can get more money to take care of his family…oh and buy more guns for his collection! I love your blog and read it faithfully but words have power and influence…everything in the media influences us daily, whether we want to admit that or not. But even jurors are not supposed to be reading the papers and watching the news regarding the cases they are assigned…what self respecting judge would do the opposite! If a judge makes a decision solely based on a blogsite, he shouldn't be a judge in the first place. I'm sorry I just don't believe that a judge read this site or any other blogsite about TI and is taking their context into consideration.
As a law student, it would be unconstitutional for a judge to read the content of a blog and decide on any previous allegations of a defendant. T.I. needs to worry about his legal team because they must not be doing something right because let's just face it...His ass is still in jail, and from the way things are looking, he will continue to be there.

I agree with everyone else who said that T.I.'s own actions caused this ish.
Furthermore, the judge or anyone else involved didn't have to read Sandra Rose or the AJC to get the 411 on T.I. or the facts surrounding this case. If the Feds were watching, they already knew what the deal was.
Some people never realize that when you reach a certain level of success, you can't go around doing the same crap you used to do...and you and boosie, bay-bay, and man-man probably won't have the same things in common or the same relationship that you used to have cause' them clowns don't have as much to lose as you do.

T.I. needs to hire R. Kelly's lawyers and keep Michael Jackson's attorneys on spedd dial as a back-up, while trying to manipulate the jury so that it resembles the one in the Phil Spector trial.

I took it as a veiled threat when I heard it repeated by different people.
They need to appreciate the fact that you have pretty much been ridin' for TI and his ENTIRE family during this incident. I haven't read anything that you have posted that is slanderous or defamatory toward TI or his charges. You have reported that facts as you know them and have probably kept a whole lot more to yourself than what you decided to post (ex: the name of the snitch). They need to stop and focus more of their time trying to get his case together and not worry about the blogs. TI, TIP, and Clifford Harris are the only ones to blame in this whole entire ordeal- everyone else is irrelevant. ~Razzi

Well, Sandra I thought it was very irresponsible of you to put the bodyguards name out there, this is a pending federal indictment and you out their confidential witness. You are lucky the feds haven't come to talk to you. That is not only very immature but dangerous. They label them as confidential to protect them, you may not agree with "snitches" but Im sure you would change your mind if someone close to you was affected. And you should pray nothing happens to the witness, because you are the one that put his name on the web. That is a good reason for a judge to read a blog, if his confidential informant's name is posted on the internet. Think about it, if you are a witness in a serious case, would you want your name posted on the internet, and you made it seem like you are an insider on this case, which would make the judge believe TI's camp is up to something shady. Now look where you are at, TI's camp blames you for this and you were ridiculously defending him.....But the fact that you dont think it was a big deal to put a federal confidential witness's name on you site, makes me laugh.

Also, I've noticed that Mediatakeout takes a lot of your stories and makes them their own, so if they haven't already, I assume they will be posting that TI's attornies called them and told them to be more sensitive. !!!!! They are definitely a trash site.

Living here in Atlanta, there is a bout 3 degrees of seperation between folks so, if someone really wanted to know his name, it wouldn't take much digging to find out. Plus, he NEEDS to be exposed. TI's life and finances is on display for everyone to criticize and examine so who really cares if someone leaked this person's name!!!!!!
Well if this is the case, TI's lawyers have a bigger problem than just Sandy. On SOHH/Atlanta, the comments section is full of insider comments/gossip/street talk relating to this case. And that is where I first got the Informant's name, Sandra only posted his initials( which another reader then tried to correct her on)so she was not the 1st place to list the Informant's initals. Plus, the FEDS must not be doing that great of a job by protecting their witness since his name was all over the Internet in a matter of a few days.

He is not a secret informant. He is a cooperating witness. His name was not a closely guarded secret. How could it be when everybody who works for T.I. knows his name? Also, everybody that he worked for in Atlanta knows his name. Plus, it's going to come out during trial anyway.
I seriously doubt Mr. Harris or his attorneys are concerned about your site personally. Nor do I think they told anyone to contact you or anyone else.
If they were discussing bloggers it was probably in general and about a strategy to insure relevant and important information didn't end up on the internet which may or may not have an adverse effect down the line. As some of the previous poster's said people have been talking information is being discussed (i.e. the cooperating witness' name) and unlike old times prior to the internet, it didn't make a difference in a trial situation but today defense attorneys do have to take those issues at least into consideration.
As for the executive and T.I.'s associates, they probably got a little nervous and over zealous and acted on their own.
Sandra calm down, no one is going to do anything to you. Neither T.I. nor his defense team has any thoughts about you or your blogg on a personal level.
The executives and some people T.I. knows may be contacting blogs in general. Is that necessarily a smart move, No but sometimes people who don't understand the legal system and how it works get a little nervous. All of them are on edge and some aren't thinking too clearly.
As for his legal team they are right on track. Their first order of business is to secure his release and under Mr. Harris' current circumstances, I think they've crafted an excellent release package and if they get everything in order he'll probably be released (or at least granted bond) this Friday. And then they can focus on his defense.
I don't see a threat in here. It was obvious you were on T.I.'s team, but your support was not beneficial to him. Instead of saying all boys like guns, you were supposed to say, "I don't believe TI owns any guns. Those were someone elses guns." Either way dude is going to jail. He needs to go ahead and cop a plea and not give all his remaining money to a team of lawyers.

This judge is concerned with Clifford Harris, the fact that he is a rapper by profession works against him. The fact he is a convicted felon purchasing illegal guns works against him.

If anyone is doing any harm to this case, it's the news, there the 1st ones to make BREAKING NEWS (which is not accurate at all times) on such a case. Sandra, I don't think it's what you wrote about TI per se, so much as what you wrote about what his lawyers would be doing to try to get him released. Possibly the judge presiding over the case didn't ACTUALLY read the entry you wrote nor the comments from the bloggers, but that's not to say that his clerk or someone on his staff didn't. All that to say, that if the lawyers are mad at you for possibly jeopardizing their case, it's not based on TI's lack of judgement which got him in this situation to begin with; but, that you were giving the tactics that they were going to use to try to get him released last week. Possibly by you printing what they were going to do, it gave the judge or the prosecutor's reason for a rebuttal, which is what happened last Friday. Should bond be completely denied, of course it's not your faul. The defense lawyers should know first hand that you don't tell anyone (except the client) what you are trying to do to expedite a client's release until you are actually in court, and in front the judge. Just my take.
I think that the judge should show an open mind in this case and not be influenced by some blogger
