Rappers and their jacked up grillz
True story: A couple of months ago I was chillin' in the Body Tap parking lot when one of the car valets - a young black male - approached me and struck up a conversation about my website. While we talked I noticed he had clear braces on his teeth so I commended him on his dental work. It's that rarest of young black men who will make the effort to take care of their teeth and I was impressed.
He was in turn impressed that I noticed and he called over two more of his fellow valets to show me their clear braces. "We all take care of our teeth," he said proudly. Which brings me to Jay Z, Sean Combs and anyone else who has the means to fix their jacked up grillz but won't.
They can spend money extravagantly on unnecessary things, but can't spend a couple of dollars to fix their teeth? No wonder Jay Z rarely smiles - and for that we are grateful.

I concur. There are folks out here with tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in "hardware and jewels" around their necks, on their fingers and even in their mouths. Yet, they won't take care of their teeth.

I JUST left the dentist an hour ago!!!! And all the dental work I need to keep my pearly whites...I wish I had Jay's cash. I'll get all types of s**t done to my teeth. Hell, I need to get a second job just to get a damn crown!!!

And I'm going to shock you and agree with you that Diddy should fix his teeth. ;op Plus from what Buster Rhymes said he needs to invest in a tongue scraper for his bad breath!!!(we all know what he's doing to get that bad breath and its nog from kissing no girls). I really don't think there is anything Jay could do to make you find him attractive so I'll just leave it at that. By the way if you're looking for something to post go over to courtv.com and report about 4 teens who stole a mannequinn painted black with KKK on the chest and hung it over an embankment, or you can write about the 3 teens that broke into house and killed a 12 year old girl, or you could right about the 4 teens that beat up black teen and tried to drown in Miami. Just a suggestion. Funny how quickly they already forgot about the torture victim in VA. Wendy Williams is right black people can only handle one crisis at a time.

But I probably still would get irritated looking at his mouth.:) He probably thinks it will affect his speaking voice,,,if he was to get braces. When your teeth are use to being that twisted and hitting your lip a certain way, when you speak, it really does change things, to get them corrected.. I know a few years ago, it looked like his girl B had some clear ones on, when she appeared on Oprah,, I could tell because of the way her mouth formed her words, and her topped lip looked flat.. I use to have braces in my early teenage years, so I know these things...haha

You just had to put a picture of your secret crush up there huh...I feel the love Sandra, I do...really. That nicca is always smiling. So what if they don't want to fix their damn teeth, that is their perogative. I'm sure there a some things about yourself that need to be "reevaluated" and whether you fix them or not is your business. People are going to love Jay and diddy regardless. I do remember that episode of Dave Chappelle when they were talking about Diddy's teeth...ish WAS funny.

That looks photoshopped Sandra, but anyway. I'm dating a really nice guy who's grill needs some work but I haven't gotten the balls to tell him since he's so sensitive about certain things. His niceness makes me see past his jagged grill (sometimes)...maybe B has learned to look past that if that is indeed a real pic of his grill.
Now JD on the other hand.....hmmmm Jesus be a dentist....lol.

The pic is not Photoshopped. Anyway, it's not just the teeth, it's the bad skin condition too. Brotha needs a chemical skin peel and he needs to drink more water and lay off the alcohol. That will do wonders for his bad breath and his skin.
Why should they get their teeth done? So people can put this picture and the after picture side by side and tell the world he's not perfect and he got work on his teeth. I think if they're are happy with it then so be it.

I totally agree with El ,he has enough money to get his grill fixed,but he doesn't have to because his messed up tooth is not going to stop women from throwing it at him or bringing his record sells down. I hear women saying how fine Jay is or how fine Lil Wayne is and we all know if they were just regular working brotha's people would be singing a totally different song.Plus Beyonce don't seem to be complaining so hey. lmao Sandra he has bad breath ,people say the same thing about Beyonce. He does need a chemical peel but I don't see that happening because of reasons I previously stated.

As messed up as his teeth are. I've seen worse. Shemar Moore and Morris Chesnut both have a teeth on top of teeth at the bottom. Yet are still considered fine. Hell at least Jay's teeth look clean. Wesley Snipes has a grey front tooth. Don't beleive me? Take a look at Waiting to exhale. When I went to see it at the movies, all the ladies were screaming when he came on the screen, I was like YUCK.
I tell you what there are some white stars with messed up teeth too. U wanna really see peoples flaws get you and HDTV. Boy, it show EERRYYTHING!
If any of you would take the time to research recent photos of Jay you would know this is picture is definitely photo shopped. His teeth are not like that.

Also ... as stated in a previous post I just saw the brother at Time Warner Plaza here in NYC ... WHAT SKIN CONDITION ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!? He was impressive to say the least. Trust me, I had not been a fan of his looks until the other day!
Nothing speaks more volumes than a brother in a sharply tailored suit, impeccable grooming and great attitude. Hey ... that was MY experience.

Adamant, the pic is real. From the angle in Sandra's pic, you can see the overlapping but with the pic you posted, in that angle, you can't see it.

I dont think money is the issue sandra lol. I think the time for recouperation and the pain is what stops them. Men arent like women there not going to spend money enhancing themselves look how long it took nas to fix his chip tooth and he always had the money to do it. puffys was way more profound than what it is now I think he has altered his a bit jay's isnt really that bad think about it can you picture jay and puff with there mouths WIRED SHUT for like 2 months or jay with braces it aint happening. lol

Is your site just a gossip site now? I always thought you were a photographer I used to come on your site and see great pictures, now they are far and few between...business slow?
I've read several commentaries on this site re: the "image of beauty" that's been created by society, the media, etc. Topics have included weight, skin color, hair color, hair type, cup size, etc. It sounds to me like we need to add straight teeth to this list? And does a jacked up grill include gap teeth (which are considered a sign of beauty in some cultures)?
I'm having trouble trying to figure out why it's a MUST to "fix" your grill, but an "oh no she didn't" when women receive breast implants.

Actually, I make 10 times more money now sitting on my ass than I did busting my ass as a photographer. Now I have the luxury of picking and choosing what I shoot. I've turned down a bunch of gigs this year. Thank you for your financial contribution. :)

That photo is has definitely been altered. Jay's teeth are jacked but its not crooked like that. And to top it off that tooth is whiter than the other teeth. Gimme a break!
Look at the age spots and crow's feet on his face. This guy is definitely 40 or he's the oldest looking 37-year-old on the planet.

To be honest, why does it matter if he's got a few teeth that are not straight. As long as he cleans them and his breath ain't stinking that's all that matters right? Saying he should fix his teeth cause they aren't straight is no better than saying he should have surgery for his nose or lips cause they're too big. I'm no Jay-z fan. But if that's how he was made and he don't care why should he fix it?
I agree with elle. Jay's teeth are decent. I've seen worse. Too Short's grill was really jacked up back in the day, and he got his grill fixed, thank goodness.

As much as you would hate to admit it, that photo with Jay facing the front is photoshopped. I have seen Jay smile many times, both in other pictures and in person, and I have never seen that tooth. Now I'm not saying that he has a perfect grill, but that picture is not a true representation of him, more like an exaggeration. BTW, I enjoyed your site more when it was strictly about pictures. Honestly thats still the only reason I come here but I usually get sucked into some b/s story.

PHOTOSHOPPPED! I LOOK AT PICTURES ALL THE TIME, FRONTAL AND FROM THE SIDES, NONE OF THEM LOOK REMOTELY SIMILAR TO THIS. EVEN ON VIDEO, NOTHING THIS DRASTIC.
