SHE'S THE GREATEST. SO MUCH TALENT! I LOVE THIS VIDEO.
Not impressed by the video. Beyonce looks pretty but it looks like a combination of her other videos. I was not impressed with the diamonds in her mouth. She and Jay do the same thing in each video. He sits or stands and she prances around him. That is nothing new. This song is a club banga. The video didn't fit the song. That's my opinion.

Video is a day late, and just shy of being supa ghetto. Who does Bee want to appeal to? I mean she loses big time in Hollywood, now she's back to being a video vampire. Hollywood didn't want any parts of Bee so she enforces her Plan B, THis girl is hilarious and validated why Hollywood will not take her serious as an actress. She's not focused!

I am not particularly a Beyonce fan, but i have to say this video is the best of the bunch... though not the greatest. I agree that it did not entirely fit the song... but i loved the choreography. I thought he attempt at being 'street' was frustratingly nauseating...
I just wish it was a bit more aggressive. I mean, she wants to upgrade someone who's worth 400million... you'd better have some balls...LOL

Did anyone see the video of her and Shakira on 106 & Park? Beyonce is a mess, she teams up with Shakira only because she knows that Shakira can give her a run for money in terms of dancing and sex appeal, plus I think she is only using her to steal her style and get the Spanish market behind her. Her and Matthew are very manipulative.

Well, I loved the video. It took me awhile to like the song also, but I like it too. As far as Bey and Matthew being manipulative by putting Bey and Shakira in a video together. Manipulative is notthe word. Its called good business. If you have a spanish cd coming out, why not do a song with a popular latin star? Duh!!

Let's keep it real they both were stars and had fans before getting together but they both have upgraded each other. They as a couple have helped each other out careerwise tremendously.
Let me break down the concept of the "gansta style" in the video according to her. "Her exact words were, "We had to do that, I love it, because all the people at the barbershop said, see I told you they broke up, see he didn't even do the upgrade video and just when you think he not in it zzzoom there he go". She said when she was lipsyncing his parts that everybody including them were dying laughing, because it was so hilarous. So she wasn't saying oh I'm a thug girl, she only lipsynced his part and mannerisms so that he could slide in the video and shush the rumors.
this song is one of my favorites from beyonce, but yeah the video wasnt that great. the song is awesome though, i love that beat. my fiancee even likes this song, and he never listens to beyonce and hes one of the biggest non-jay z fans. people need to stop hating on beyonce, shes a beautiful woman that can act, sing, dance, and be by her mans side. plus, she doesnt have to flaunt her relationship to the world, and theyve been together at least over 4 years now. shes very talented.
Let me just say this. To fans and non-fans. I like Beyonce. I think she is pretty and talented. I have seen her in concert (and the tickets were not cheap) and I have bought some of her music. But, I think its time for her to take a break(a nice long one).I dont understand why she feels like she has to be in our faces ALL the time. This is why people are tired of her! The director is a young black lady doing her first video shoot. Give beyonce props for giving a sista a chance. Also, Just remember Spanish speaking people is the largest minority group in America right now its not blacks anymore. every business is catering to the that crown. she's a smart business woman to do her album in Spanish. shakira was singing in Spanish before she starts singing in English how come that was not a problem.

Wow..there are a lot of close minded folk in the world...as well as people who don't respect OR UNDERSTAND the aspects of a TRUE artist...a true entertainer.
First and foremost, the comments about her acting "hood" are ridiculous. People, Beyonce is an artist in every aspect of the word. Artists are not one dimensional people..and this goes for ANY type of artist; painters, photographers, actors, directors, singers, rappers, whoever! Artists were designed to be multi-dimensional, well rounded people, and are able to transform at the drop of a dime. She was simply getting into character when she was lip syncing to Jay's lyrics and portraying the "hood" image. It wasn't to be taken literally. People read too much into things. Sometimes, you just gotta take stuff for what it is. So, since she's "Hollywood" now, she has to constantly represent Hollywood 24/7? Come on. That's not what this is about. The purpose of her doing that was to simply add a little character to the video. The bottom line is, I think people are getting tired of seeing her everywhere, which is why she is talked about so much in a negative fashion. But, you cannot deny the fact that she is a star, and she is about her business. I personally think the video was hot! I also really liked the video with Shakira. It was a great marketing tool to team up with someone that's Spanish when you're about to release a spanish album. It's common sense, but if you don't understand the business, then you wouldn't know that. It's not your fault. But, don't knock the girl for mastering her hustle, and being a well rounded artist. How the hell do you think Prince and Madonna lasted in this industry for as long as they have!?!? Evolution! When you're constantly evolving as an artist, you're setting yourself up for success, and that is what Beyonce is doing. Good business. Simply put. Give respect where respect is due. She is, hands down, one hell of an entertainer, and as much as people claim to HATE her, it amazes me that those SAME PEOPLE are still constantly tuning in to see what she's going to do next. Mission accomplished Beyonce.

True, I agree to a certain extent but disagree that this album is evolutionary. She IS a good performer and if somebody bought me tickets, I'd go see her and if somebody bought me her new album, I'd listen to it...every Tuesday, but Tuesdays only. LOL.

I'm the person you quoted regarding evolution. I totally TOTALLY agree with you about this album not being evolutionary, totally! I wasn't saying THAT, because truthfully, the album was just "alright" to me, u know? It was a fun, flirty album, but none of the tracks grabbed me like those of her FIRST cd. I was speaking in terms of her overall career evolving; not the B'Day album (lol). :o)
Beyonce is a beautiful black sister, no doubt, but please, enough with all the rolling around on the floor (in every video) and selling yourself. C’mon black people – WAKE UP!!! tbrown i couldn't agree more. coming from someone who isn't a huge beyonce fan , i do think she has talent , but i'm just not into everything she does and if there is something that i don't like about it i'm going to say it . and vice versa. we aren't always gonna see her or any other artist in the same way all the time .

I have to admit that when the whole Destiny Child thing was going on that I hated Beyonce. But over time she kind of grew on me. One thing that I have to say is that she is talented and no one can take that from her--so don't try and stop hating. I personally like the video. I especially like the part when she is dancing with her dancers and when she turns into Jay-Z. Despite all, I do think that she needs to take a vacation and let people miss her. She's been on the scene extremely too long. Enjoy that money girl.

I actually like the video. Like not love.But like many of you said, its kinda boring. I was expecting more from the video. I don't get how everone is saying that this video looks like the rest of her videos. I don't agree. "Deja Vu" was mimicking Josephine Baker. "Ring The Alarm" got its inspiration from the movie Basic Instinct. And "Irreplacable" was... None of them were alike. I think Beyonce's videos are creative. Most videos these days just have people at a party with a bunch of scantily clad women dancing. At least she's doing something different from the norm.

This does look her other videos. I as a filmmaker can fell condiefent in saying I could shoot this music video 10x better then her! GREAT SONG! GREAAAAAAT! but Video doesnt fit song well. like I said beyonce should of allowed me shot the video!
